2010 was the sixth year for which the political parties were obliged to report their revenues pursuant to the Political Parties Act. By means of various sources Statistics Norway gained an overview of the party organisations obliged to report their revenues, and provided these organisations with information and questionnaires.
The population for 2010 was based on information about organisations having applied for and received funding in 2011 and supplemented by means of the parties' head organisations as well as the 2009 population. We consider the population as complete for the political parties covered by the data collection.
The 2011 report covered 3 228 party organisations. This number does not include units that prior to the data collection were reported closed down or that were established during 2011.
At the deadline for reporting, which was set to 1 July, 2 996 party organisations (92.8 per cent) had reported their revenues. This first publication contains the party organisations that had reported their revenues by 26 August.
